Testing We Dare You! at Timberdoodle #0091

From Timberdoodle.com:
We Dare You! covers science topics that both children and adults will find intriguing. From the familiar (shooting a geyser of cola ten feet into the air) to the more surprising (burning a handkerchief without damaging it), We Dare You! will encourage your family to think about science in a whole different way.

We Dare You! includes illustrations when needed to clarify the instructions, and any experiments that require adult supervision are clearly noted. Written for public schools, there is a reference or two to evolutionary dating, and a couple of experiments are just not possible for most families unless you own a Van de Graaff Generator. But overall, the experiments and tricks are super-easy to do and your family is sure to have a blast learning all the amazing ways science is at work around them.

How to Play Fastrack – Timberdoodle Vodcast #0092

From Timberdoodle.com:
Pull out Fastrack and watch his eyes light up. Fastrack is a beautiful solid wood tray with elastic bands across each end and a bridge in the middle. Using the elastic band like a slingshot, players simultaneously try to shoot five wooden disks under the bridge to the other side. Be quick and aim well because the Fastrack bridge opening is barely bigger than the disks.

The first player with no disks on his side wins. Your child’s need of shooting accuracy and lightning-fast timing will increase his dexterity and reflexes, while sharpening visual perception and strategic thinking. Simple, exciting, but small enough to be portable, Fastrack is rowdy fun for everyone!

ED Smart Block Demo – Timberdoodle Vodcast #0090

Not just your standard building blocks!  ED Smart Blocks are wooden building blocks with self-righting magnets, holding your child’s creations together, and allowing them to be played with in whatever shapes your child can imagine.

Set includes blocks for building sixteen winged models, but so many more possibilities.  If you get stuck, there are instructions for building the winged models on the back of the box.

From Timberdoodle.com:
Smart Block‘s wooden pieces, with the always attaching, never repelling magnets, are safe and easy for children to separate and put back together. With thirty gorgeous pieces in a variety of shapes, Smart Block Aircraft builds sixteen winged models (as pictured on the back of the box), but that is just the beginning. This innovative, multi-faceted construction toy encourages creativity, development of spatial perception, and even problem solving as young children build their own unique models. Made of sturdy beechwood, Smart Block Aircraft is suitable for ages three and older.
