Settlers of America Trails To Rails, A Good Look At The Newest Settlers Game – Timberdoodle Vodcast #0028

If you are familiar with Settlers, the game often-touted as “best strategy game ever!” then you know that everyone has been looking forward to Settlers of America, the newest game in the series. Watch the video to see the components and hear why a homeschool supply company would eagerly add Settlers of America to their game selection.

Settlers of America Trails to Rails

From Our Online Store:
“Are you looking for a game that will evaluate not only your strategy but also your character? Settlers of America Trails to Rails, the latest of the Catan History series, will put to the test both your ability to outmaneuver your opponents, and your capacity to do so with grace. As in all Catan games, Settlers of America Trails to Rails‘ key ingredient is constant player interaction, which means virtually no down time and lots of opportunity for personality quirks to be exposed.

Race to Deliver the Most Goods
Settlers of America Trails to Rails combines the award-winning strategy of the Catan series with the remarkable history of American westward expansion. Players collect and trade resources in order to build settlements, acquire locomotives and railroad routes, then race with other players to deliver the most goods.

Twists and Turns Consistent with the 19th Century
Players start with cities east of the Mississippi River and instead of knights and monopolies, cattle drives, cavalry, scouts and the abundant resources of the west require players to travel west in order to expand. There are a number of twists and turns with Settlers of America involving the earning of gold, the devaluation of land, and the dwindling of resources as the population grows, all in keeping with life in the 19th century…” Read The Rest or Shop Now Here!

#0011 – Little Sorting Caterpillar

We spent hours comparing shape sorters; have you ever considered just how many are out there? Some only had a few pieces, some felt yucky or fragile right out of the box, while others were just plain unattractive. The Little Sorting Caterpillar was a clear winner, because in addition to being well-built of beautiful wood and having an amazing 13 pieces The Little Shape Sorting Caterpillar offers different levels of play. With so many different components this is truly a tool that grows with your child for hours of use. Of course, it is also sturdy enough to be passed on to countless siblings when your toddler is done with it – or turn it over to the church nursery!

Behind The Scenes

  • We are delighted to have friends who let us demo products with their children. Devyn is 2, isn’t she sweet? Watch for more video of her and her sister Hayden in weeks to come.
  • This is taken from our soon-to-be-announced Toddler Curriculum. The whole thing will be arriving on our site in the next two weeks.

Little Sorting Caterpillar

“Like all shape sorters, the friendly-faced Shape Sorting Caterpillar will teach your child to observe the difference between several shapes and fit them into their respective holes. #0006 – Imaginets: Fun Preschool Thinking Skills Magnetic Kit

Parents of preschoolers know that it can be a challenge to keep these restless winds entertained in a productive manner. Imaginets does just that, while building fine-motor skills, problem solving ability, an ability to follow directions and interpret patterns. Imaginets’ brilliantly colored magnets stick securely to the wooden case which doubles as a white-board.

Behind The Scenes

  • We emailed a couple local families with young children to see if any of them would be interested in reviewing Imaginets and sending us video of their kid(s) using it. Judah & Cohen’s mom responded literally within minutes, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Don’t you agree?
  • Judah did a terrific job of introducing himself but my favorite part is Cohen’s introduction. “Me, 2.” So cute!

From Our Store
In our rush to teach our children how to read and do math, it is easy to overlook the importance of teaching our children how to think. That is akin to putting the cart before the horse, as thinking skills are a vital part of reading and math. If we neglect to teach our children how to think we make education a more arduous process than it needs to be… Read More About Imaginets Or Buy Some Here.
