Here are all the details:

Homeschool Video Contest

Step One – Today through June 14th

Make a Video

Make a video that mentions Timberdoodle and post it on YouTube or your favorite online video site. Most importantly, fill out this simple entry form, giving us the link to your video. Entries must be received by June 14th to be eligible for the contest!

Step Two – June 16th to June 21st

Vote

Come back and browse all the videos on this page and vote for your favorites (including your own, of course) by commenting on each video. Send family and friends a link to your video so they can vote. They love you, so they’ll vote for you–right? Again, every comment on a video counts as a vote, and the three videos with the most votes will win.

Step Three – June 22nd to September 1st

Spend Your Money

Shop Timberdoodle.com to cash in your gift certificate!
The fine print?
No cash value on any of the certificates.
Only one certificate may be used per order.
Qualifying orders must be $10 minimum. (Since $10 is the minimum amount you’ll win, this clause is to keep our records from showing that we owe you $1.75 cash after you receive your $8.25 item for free!)

Eligible Videos:

1. Are family-friendly
2. Refer to Timberdoodle clearly in the video
3. Feature a Timberdoodle product, service, or curriculum
4. Use outside media legally (music, video clips, etc…)
5. Are submitted online before 6/14/2010

By participating in this contest, you agree to abide by Timberdoodle’s decision regarding the winners of this contest and to give Timberdoodle the right to use your video in any way they choose.

#0004 – Bubber, part 2: Make A Fake Thumb, Plaster Footprint & More.

We’ve loved Bubber since the first time we touched it, and we’re not alone in that – our Bubber tray was a highlight at every conference where we demonstrated it. But sometimes it is easy to think you’ve exhausted all possible uses for a non-drying art manipulative.  If you’ve ever thought that way about Bubber I’m sure you’ll enjoy seeing all these new ideas using Plaster of Paris from our local discount store. We cast a footprint, nameplate and fake thumb – but truly the possibilities are endless.

Behind The Scenes
Abel is known in our local fire department for his fast-paced movements and boundless energy. We can’t wait to show our friends the end of the video as he cleans the Bubber. Of course, it is on fast-forward, but we think they’ll feel it is the most accurate depiction of him they’ve seen! Looking for more ideas? We ran out of time to show all of ours. What about using a jar to mold dishes for your daughter to decorate and use for pretend tea parties? If you have a human body model, recast organs and let your student paint/label them. Footprints don’t have to be limited to small feet either – use Bubber to cast footprints of family pets or even those realistic tigers in your toy box!

Kids Play With Bubber

From Our Store
Bubber is an amazing new product imported from Sweden; contrary to its playful name, Bubber is destined to become a workhorse in the educational market. Bubber is an excellent source for tactile stimulation, improving gross- and fine-motor skills in a satisfyingly gentle way… Read More About Bubber Or Buy Some Here.

#0003 – Bubber, part 1: Model with it. Carve it. Clean it up. Eat it?

Bubber has always been difficult to describe. Soft as a marshmallow – but not sticky. Fluffy as a cloud – but you can carve it. More crumbly then Cheetos – but cleanup is easy. Now we can finally use more than words to show off this unique art product! Not only that, but we’ve included starter ideas for when you receive your Bubber in the mail!

Behind The Scenes
We were shocked, appalled and intrigued when Nehemiah spontaneously decided to taste the Bubber. I still can’t watch the end of this video without grinning at the results! Interestingly though, a rewind through the footage showed Nehemiah tasting the Bubber earlier in the filming – just to make sure he could palate it?

#0002 – Thinking Putty: Handwarmer, Therapy Project, Office Tool…

By far our most popular gift for Christmas 2009 was Thinking Putty, we sold literally thousands of tins and even had a custom color made for us. As we’ve used it over the years we’ve accumulated a few ideas that you may not have thought of yet. If you haven’t yet tried burying coins in your Thinking Putty, microwaving it or using it as a rubber thumb, give it a try and then let us know what you think!

Behind The Scenes

  • This edition was filmed in the warehouse, the office and the office kitchenette.
  • Nehemiah graciously agreed to come in on a Friday he was to have off, bringing one of his delightful daughters with him. We were thrilled to get her in a shot!
  • We tried showing each color of Thinking Putty to the camera but with the cheery day we were having and the back-lit approach the colors were too hard to see in most of the shots.
  • Yes, that is a red Cling-Thing on the fridge, and it held the Thinking Putty cans securely throughout the filming!
  • Scarab Thinking Putty

    From Our Store
Thinking Putty is Silly Putty but enhanced with knock-your-socks-off colors that shift or morph completely as you squeeze. There are even eye-popping glow-in-the-dark versions that will inspire all sorts of electrifying experiments. All versions of the non-toxic, non-gooey Thinking Putty will bounce, stretch, tear, drip, snap, even shatter. Silicone-based, they will never dry out. But the heat sensitive versions will change colors with the warmth of your hands while the swirled colors will maintain their individual colors no matter how many times they are kneaded… Read More About Thinking Putty and Buy A Different Color For Each Family Member.
